Hardware Specs for The Zen Machine™

The Zen Machine™ is a randomly colored MP3 player preloaded with a SanDisk™ flash memory card containing one random package of audio loops which can be played in a variety of different ways. It provides the following functionality:

1. On/Off/Play/Pause
2. Automatic Power-Off if Paused for more than one minute
3. Rewind & Fast-Forward, and Back and Forward Track Skipping
4. Volume Control (raise and lower)
5. EQ settings: None, Rock, Jazz, etc.
6. Repeat Mode: All Tracks, One Track, etc.
7. Runs of a single AAA battery which should provide 10-12 hours of play
8. Plays 32-320Kbs CBR encoded MP3 tracks on SanDisk™

The Zen Machine™ player supports the MP3 format, v1/2/2.5 Layers I, II & III and can play CBR (Constant Bit Rate) encoded MP3 files from 32-320Kbs. The USB connection supports USB 1.0, 1.1, and 2.0 ports.

It comes packaged in a uniquely decorated holding tube with a USB cable, earbud headphones, one AAA battery, operating instructions, and other information. You can use it as a normal MP3 player by connecting it to a Compatible Computer System and saving and replacing the loops, or by using another SanDisk™ card to store your own music.

Please note that your Zen Machine™ color and the loop package will be randomly chosen. It is part of the Fun and in a way, very Zen-like.

Computer System Requirements

A Windows™, Mac™ or Linux-based computer with at least 32MB RAM, hard disk storage for MP3 files, and at least one USB port as specified above. Basically just about any computer made in the last decade with a USB port will work just fine. Please note that this requirement is only needed if you wish to save and replace the loops installed on the player.

Loop Collections MP3 Formats

All Loop Collections are available in either as a Winzip™ file for digital download or on SanDisk™ flash cards which can be purchased separately from the player. All loops come in the following MP3 formats:

• Loop in 192Kbs CBR (Constant Bit Rate)
• Loop in 256Kbs CBR
• Loop in 224Kbs VBR (Variable Bit Rate)
• Track in 192Kbs CBR
• Track in 224Kbs VBR
